Owl City has predicted that Carly Rae Jepsen will have a good night at the upcoming MTV VMAs.

The Canadian songstress is nominated in the Best New Artist category at the awards, which will take place on September 6 in Los Angeles.

Owl City - aka Adam Young - recently teamed up with the 'Call Me Maybe' star for the track 'Good Time' and he told MTV that he reckons Jepsen's odds of winning at the ceremony are good. He said:

He said: "[Her chances are] pretty good. They're all good, but I'm rooting for her."

Young meanwhile added Jepsen's charm isn't just in her music, but in her personality too. He said:

"It's sincerity. She's genuine. I don't know what it is. The song ['Call Me Maybe'] is really catchy, but she is really amazing. She fits that song."
