Dr. Dre named the richest hip-hop artist in the world

'The Next Episode' heavyweight Dr. Dre has topped Forbes' Cash Kings 2012: Hip-Hop making him the wealthiest star of the genre in the world.

The magazine revealed that his pre-tax earnings are $110 million and this hefty figure helped him beat the likes of Diddy, who raked in $45 million and came in at No.2, and Jay-Z who brought in a commendable $38 million leaving him in third place.

Kanye West came in fourth with $35 million and, notably, the only woman to make the list was 'Super Bass' superstar Nicki Minaj at No.8 with $15.5 million.

Other well-known hitmakers to make the cut include Eminem at 9 with $15 million, Timbaland who tied with Tech N9ne at No.2 with earnings of $6 million, and Pitbull who landed at 11 with $9.5 million.
