Carly Rae Jepsen talks Justin Bieber 'Beautiful' duet

Carly Rae Jepsen has spoken about how her new collaboration with Justin Bieber came about.

Their duet 'Beautiful' is set to feature on Jepsen's forthcoming new album 'Kiss', which is due for a September 17 release.

Speaking to BBC Newsbeat, the 'Call Me Maybe' star said that she initially heard the track when she was first introduced to Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun after signing to their label.

The 'Boyfriend' singer played her the track - before asking her to record vocals fifteen minutes later. Jepsen said:

"When I first was signed to Justin and Scooter, I came to LA for my introduction. That night at the studio Justin played me some songs from his album 'Believe', and 'Beautiful' was one of the tracks he showed me that night. I just said, 'I love this song, who wrote it?'. He told me that him and Toby Gad had, and he actually asked if I'd be interested singing on it. Of course I jumped at the opportunity."

She continued: "I didn't know that he meant that night, so literally fifteen minutes later I was thrown into the vocal booth."
