One Direction and Lady Gaga enter Guinness World Records book

The 2013 edition of the Guinness World Records will include entries from the biggest names in pop and modern music.

Pop icon Lady Gaga will be featured in the book for her album 'Born This Way', which was named the fastest-selling U.S. digital album after selling an incredible 1.1 million copies in the first week of its release.

UK heartthrobs One Direction have also earned themselves a mention as they recently became the first British act to have a debut album go straight to number one in the USA, and the Queen of Pop, Madonna, has been given a nod after her Super Bowl half-time show in February scored the biggest TV audience (114 million viewers).

'Someone Like You' superstar Adele's 7 broken records have also scored her a place in the book as she became the first female, first UK artist and fastest to reach a million U.S. digital sales, then scored the biggest-selling digital track in both the U.S. and UK with 'Rolling in the Deep', and also had the biggest-selling digital album with '21' in the UK and U.S.

Meanwhile, the One Direction lads dominated last night's (September 6) MTV VMAs and won all 3 categories they were nominated in.
