Justin Timberlake says he 'can’t pump albums out every year'

Justin Timberlake has defended his absence from the music scene by explaining that he can’t pump albums out every year.

The 'SexyBack' singer, who was speaking at the premiere of his latest film, Trouble With The Curve, told reporters that he doesn’t want to compromise his artistic integrity just for the sake of it:

“One thing I’ve found in the last three or four years, since ['FutureSex/LoveSounds'], is that life’s experiences really fuel your art and songwriting and creating music.”

“For me it’s a really big deal. For me personally when I do sit down and decide to do it, it’s just a special thing. I don’t think I can pump them out every year.”

However, Oscar Isaac, his co-star in upcoming The Coen Brothers film, Inside Llewyn Davis, told MTV News that Timberlake fans will get to hear him sing at least once this year:

"He's perfect, really pure. It's folk from the '60s — old songs passed down for many generations — but new takes on them.

“Obviously, we have the hindsight of now and so we kind of revisit these old songs. They're hopeful and beautiful and in contrast [to] the life of a folk singer, which is not very beautiful at all. It's very drab and dire. It's a screwball comedy."
