One Direction send handwritten message to cerebral palsy sufferer

A One Direction fan suffering from cerebral palsy has expressed her joy at receiving a message of support from the band.

15-year-old Jade Owens from Wales got a surprise recently when a large framed poster of her idols popped through her door.

The poster had been signed by the One Direction lads and they had also included a handwritten message which said: "Hey Jade, you're amazing. Lots of love, the 1D boys."

Owens suffers from cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair, with her parents looking to raise £50,000 for a life-changing operation in the US.

They looked to drum up support for their daughter and it seems One Direction were more than willing to help brighten up her life. She told WalesOnline:

"I thought it was going to be something from Jessie J or someone. But I couldn't believe it when I saw what it actually was. I was so happy I cried. I was amazed and shocked. It was just unbelievable."

Dad David Owens added: "I would like to thank all the kind people who have given help and support to our fundraising."
