Madonna asked Lady Gaga to join her on stage recently, according to reports.

The pair have had something of a frosty relationship after Gaga's 'Born This Way' was deemed overly similar to Madonna's 'Express Yourself'.

The Queen of Pop has often taken shots at Gaga and recently appeared to sarcastically dedicate a song to her at a recent gig.

However, she turned heads by stating that they were going to be performing on stage together in the near future.

Gaga writer, producer and record label man Vincent Herbet is quoted as saying that the 'Marry The Night' star was asked to make a cameo at a Madonna show at New York's Yankee Stadium, but she couldn't do it due to touring commitments. He said:

"Madonna just called to ask Gaga to perform with her at Yankee Stadium. Her manager reached out to us and said Madonna would like Gaga to perform with her. She really wished she could do it. She said, 'If we do it, let's donate the money to charity'. But Gaga's committed to her own tour."
