Louis Walsh says X Factor finalists GMD3 are better than One Direction

X Factor panelist Louis Walsh has spoken about the act he chose to put through to the live finals, named GMD3, and he revealed that they're a stronger group "vocally" than One Direction.

Digital Spy reports that the Irish judge praised the trio for being more dynamic with their collective range and ability than the 'Live While We're Young' heartthrobs:

"From the very first audition I knew they were something special. They were just naturally amazing vocals. Vocally yes [they are better than One Direction]. They are world class."

Groups MK1 and Union J also made it through to the live finals. Meanwhile, GMD3 have shown their support and admiration for One Direction after The X Factor's official Twitter page shared a link to the lads' latest music video, which they retweeted to their own followers along with the added message: "The best one yet!"

GMD3 are also looking to change their band name and fans have been writing in to The X Factor's twitter page with suggestions: "#3eeks! SO many suggestions our email inbox imploded. It's working again now, so send in your #GMD3namechange suggestions! @GMD3Music"
