Calvin Harris and Florence Welch on course for No.1 with 'Sweet Nothing'

The new collaboration from Scottish DJ Calvin Harris and Florence + the Machine's ethereal frontwoman is set to dominate the UK singles chart on Sunday after their track debuted at No.1 during today's (October 17) midweek update.

Harris's remix of Florence + the Machine’s Number 1 summer smash, 'Spectrum', also hit the top spot and their new duet, entitled 'Sweet Nothing', is likely to follow in its footsteps as the Official Charts Company reports that the song has "surged ahead" of Swedish House Mafia's former chart-topper 'Don't You Worry Child', which is now at 2.

Boyband Lawson have entered the singles chart at No.4 with their new offering 'Standing In The Dark', Taylor Swift's 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' has climbed 5 places to No.7, and One Direction's record-breaking track 'Live While We're Young' has dropped 8 positions to No.14.

Elsewhere, Justin Bieber's highly publicised new offering 'Beauty and a Beat' made an appearance at No.24 and Rebecca Ferguson's 'Backtrack' debuted this afternoon at No.16.
