One Direction and JLS set for charity radio takeover

Acts such as One Direction and JLS have been lined up to take over a radio station later this month in aid of charity.

The two pop groups will be joined by X Factor 2011 winners Little Mix in hosting Capital FM over October 26 and October 28 in aid of their Help a Capital Child weekend.

Each group will host their own show and special prizes will be given away to lucky fans.

Funds made during the weekend will go towards care for young cancer sufferers in the UK.

Dalton Leong, Managing Director of Help a Capital Child, said: "This month marks a year since we launched our first ever Capital FM network charity appeal, which was a huge success and raised over £180,000."

He continued: "Through the great work of our charity, we're delighted to continue to support the work of Teenager Cancer Trust, making such a difference to so many young people living with cancer across the UK. I am confident that this year's appeal will create another landmark and we thank our amazing listeners for getting involved."

One Direction meanwhile recently helped host BBC Radio 1 for a day on October 6.
