Bond 'Skyfall' producers say Adele was 'always the first choice'

The producers that worked on the brand new James Bond theme song, 'Skyfall', have admitted that British vocal sensation Adele was always meant to record the track.

Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson explained to London's Metro newspaper that rock trio Muse were never in the running for the honour with their offering, 'Supremacy', and the coveted job was always meant for the 'Someone Like You' superstar: "No, Adele was always our first choice"

The producers also talked briefly about the late Amy Winehouse and revealed that she would have been the perfect artist to have created a Bond theme: "She would have been great, wonderful. She's an enormous artist still today. It's a tragic ending to her life but she's with us forever."

The premiere of the new James Bond movie, 'Skyfall', will take place later this evening (October 23) at London's Royal Albert Hall and Adele's single by the same name is currently at No.5 in the official UK Top 40.
