X Factor's Union J: 'We want to be bigger than One Direction'

Despite being in the bottom two over the weekend, The X Factor's latest heartthrobs Union J have revealed they have sky-high aspirations and are dedicated to carving out a successful music career for themselves.

The popular quartet is made up of members George Shelley, 19, Josh Cuthbert, 20, Jaymi Hensley, 22, and JJ Hamblett, 24, and in an interview with Heat magazine the lads explained that they want to rise to the same levels of international fame as the 'Live While We're Young' superstars. Josh Cuthbert said: "I’m not sure it’s possible to be any bigger than One Direction, but that would be amazing – that would be the dream."

He also joked about the fact that their mentor, Louis Walsh, told them Simon Cowell sees them as a threat to One Direction and added:

"It’s amazing for someone so powerful to be threatened by you, but I’m not sure if Louis is just winding us up! If we can be half as successful as One Direction, we’ll be chuffed."
