Matt Nathanson says Taylor Swift stole his song lyrics

'Laid' singer Matt Nathanson hit out at Taylor Swift recently because some of the lyrics on her new album are startlingly similar to some of his own.

One of Swift's songs from her new album 'Red', entitled 'All Too Well', includes the line "and I forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to", which Nathanson claims is more or less the same as a part of his 2003 song, 'I Saw':

"And I'll forget about you long enough to forget why I need to."

He tweeted about the coincidence on October 24, but has since deleted the message (pictured below). Nathanson returned to the social networking site this afternoon (November 2) and added: "so far, my favorite thing about today is the wave of @taylorswift13 fans calling me a prick on twitter for writing "i saw" in 2003."

Swift is a self-proclaimed fan of his and has been seen at some of her concerts with lyrics to his music written on her arms.
