Olly Murs shuns One Direction's love of tattoos

Olly Murs won't be following One Direction's lead and getting tattoos - because he thinks he's too old.

The British boyband have revealed something of a penchant for body art this year, with Harry Styles and Zayn Malik in particular regular visitors to the tattoo parlour.

Murs toured with the 'Take Me Home' stars in America earlier this year but it seems he didn't pick up their love of tattoos whilst on the road.

Writing in the Daily Star, the 'Oh My Goodness' singer said:

"When I did the One Direction American tour it helped being with mates who are big around the world. I learned a lot about my career in the US - that it's not a given, and it's a massive market. It's amazing for the boys to have success in a country of 298 million people."

The 28-year-old continued: "But while 1D have been getting into tattoos I don't plan on joining them as they've never really been my cup of tea. They're young lads and experimenting. Whatever they fancy, they pretty much do. But I think I'm getting to the age where it's not cool for me to do that."
