X Factor finalists turn on Downing Street Christmas lights

This year's remaining X Factor finalists have helped turn on the Prime Minister's Christmas lights.

James Arthur, Christopher Maloney and Jahmene Douglas were joined by judge Nicole Scherzinger as they turned on No.10 Downing Street's Christmas lights.

They were watched by David Cameron and hordes of school children who excitedly looked on at their reality TV idols.

The three singers had a chance to chinwag and mingle with British politics' top man as they got into the spirit of the festive season.

They even had time to sing a rendition of the classic carol 'Silent Night'.

The final meanwhile of this year's X Factor is due to take place on Saturday (December 8) in Manchester.

Douglas is the bookies' favourite to win the show and take Little Mix's crown as current champion, whilst Arthur is the second tip.

The likes of One Direction have been snapped up to perform live on the show as they take time out from their busy schedule to revisit the scene of their creation back in 2010.
