Geri Halliwell: "Spice Girls musical is emotional"

Spice Girls star Geri Halliwell says the group got “really emotional” while watching their new musical, Viva Forever!

The iconic British band - also comprising Victoria Beckham, Mel B, Mel C and Emma Bunton - reunited in London last night (December 11) for the launch of their new stage show which is based on their greatest hits.

Halliwell told heatworld.com at London's Piccadilly Theatre: “This is a great excuse for us all to have a party tonight! The musical was incredible, we all got really emotional watching it. I just want to see it again now. It was brilliant, it was so emotional, it was funny, it was exciting, it was empowering. It was girl power! It was so just perfect, we are all thrilled with it."

While Mel B, Bunton, Mel C and Halliwell all happily posed together on the red carpet earlier in the evening, fashionista Beckham was noticeably absent.

She arrived later with soccer star husband David and her three sons - Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz - in tow.

The Spice Girls reformed for their hotly-anticipated performance at the London Olympics earlier this year.
