Adele and Taylor Swift nominated for Golden Globes

Two of the world's biggest female recording artists have been nominated for next year's Golden Globes.

Vocal sensation Adele and country-pop sweetheart Taylor Swift are both up for the Best Original Song prize at the 2013 ceremony, which is set to be hosted by Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, and will go head-to-head for the coveted title.

23-year-old Swift received the nod for her collaboration with the Civil Wars on 'Safe & Sound', which featured on the soundtrack for the blockbuster movie 'The Hunger Games', and Adele was nominated for her stunning Bond theme 'Skyfall'.

British hitmaker Adele was also recently among the artists in contention for an Oscar nod after 'Skyfall' was deemed eligible for a nomination.
