George Harrison's jacket sells for £110,000 at auction

The family of the late Beatles star George Harrison recently auctioned off some of his memorabilia and his famous black leather jacket sold for an impressive sum.

The garment, which went under the hammer at London's Bonhams and was often worn by Harrison during early performances with the Fab Four, was sold for £110,000.

Speaking about the jacket before the auction, Bonhams' Stephanie Connell said: "This leather jacket is instantly recognisable and was an important part of the Beatles image in their early years. George Harrison was one of the pioneers of this signature style... It is extremely exciting to see such an iconic part of Beatles history emerge onto the market."

Other items that went for great amounts of money included a guitar used by Sir Paul McCartney in the 1950's, which sold for over £43,000, and a pair of Harrison's custom made leather boots.
