Psy's 'Gangnam Style' set to hit 1 billion YouTube views

The video for Psy's infamous 'Gangnam Style' is on course to become the first clip to reach 1 billion views on YouTube.

The song was only uploaded on the streaming website in July but it is already the most watched video on the site.

It recently beat Justin Bieber's 'Baby' to that accolade, with the Canadian currently sitting on a mere 813 million plays.

However, at the time of writing 'Gangnam Style' has a massive 988,980,056 views - meaning that it is dangerously close to reaching 1 billion plays.

The song and video has become a cult hit this year, with its bouncing dance move capturing the hearts and minds of people across the world.

Even the likes of US President Barack Obama and the British Army in Afghanistan have got in on the dancing act.
