California Hamster Association rescinds Justin Bieber cruelty complaint

The California Hamster Association has forgiven Justin Bieber after criticising his handling of a hamster.

As previously reported, the animal group recently issued a complaint against the Canadian after he gave away his pet hamster PAC in a cage to a group of screaming fans.

Despite the hamster's new owner stating that the animal was doing fine in its new home, the California Hamster Association said that PAC could have been severely shocked by the handing over.

They have, however, taken back their complaint and said in a statement:

"We have no ill will toward Mr Bieber. Our understanding is that owing to the way [new owner Victoria Blair] received the hamster and from whom, the recipient is apparently doing her best to do right by the animal, and for that I suppose we could actually thank Mr Bieber. But...in most cases the situation would almost certainly turn tragic."
