Miranda Lambert: 'Chris Brown should not be celebrated'

Country beauty Miranda Lambert has admitted that while her 2012 remarks about Chris Brown might have rubbed some people up the wrong way, she still believes that he shouldn't be celebrated because of what he did to Rihanna.

Last year, the 'Kerosene' singer tweeted her opinion about the fact that Brown had been asked to perform at the GRAMMYs and wrote: "He beat on a girl. Not cool that we act like that didn't happen."

Now, she has explained to Redbook that she stands by her comments because beating a woman isn't something that should be brushed under the carpet in the light of fame or talent:

"I didn't feel right about not saying something. The loudmouth that I am, I say what I think. I wanted everyone to know that I don't agree with the message it's sending to young women."

"It's not okay. At all. To be celebrated after doing something like that. I don't think it's right, I never will, and I will stand by what I said till the day that I die."
