Eve to release first album in 11 years

'Tambourine' hitmaker Eve has confirmed plans to release a brand new studio album.

The rapper, who famously collaborated with Gwen Stefani on 'Let Me Blow Ya Mind' and 'Rich Girl', hasn't released a new record in 11 years, but will unveil a new offering named 'Lip Lock' in May of this year.

Speaking to Billboard about the project, she explained that she began working on it back in 2007, but ran into legal issues with bosses at Interscope records so had to shelve it and then give it an overhaul and new title:

"It's not the same record. I just kept the same name. It took a minute to get out of the situation that I was in back then. That's what took so long."

'Lip Lock' will now be released on May 13 through Eve's own label, From the Ribs Music.

Her comeback single, entitled 'She Bad Bad', surfaced late last year and speaking about the track's reception she added: "(the response) blew me away. It makes me feel like people definitely did miss me and they want to hear some more...

"There are so many great tracks on the album. Call Eve is one of my favourites. I'm obsessed with it! Mom in the Kitchen is the one with Snoop on it. I love that!"
