Simon Cowell has come out trumps in a list to find the richest reality TV star.

He is followed by the likes of Susan Boyle and One Direction, who land at No.2 and No.3 on the list.

The study, which was conducted by Now magazine, shows that Cowell - who heads the X Factor and Britain's Got Talent - is worth about £225 million.

Susan Boyle meanwhile is sitting on an estimated fortune of £22 million whilst One Direction's five members are worth a massive £20 million each, despite only forming in 2010.

Completing the top five is Katie Price with £17.5 million and Cheryl Cole, who has an estimated £15 million.
