Beyoncé on inauguration miming: 'I'm a perfectionist, but didn't have time to rehearse fully'

Vocal sensation Beyoncé was present at a pre-Super Bowl press conference today (January 31) and opened up about her controversial inauguration performance of the U.S. national anthem, which she lip-synched.

Speaking about the highly publicised incident, the 'Halo' beauty explained that she knows she's vocally capable of pulling off such an impressive performance live and she only mimed because there wasn't enough time for her to rehearse as much as she wanted to:

"I am a perfectionist, I will practise until my feet bleed but I didn't get a chance. The inauguration was about the president I wanted to make him and the country proud. I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track which is something that is common in the music industry."

"I always sing live, the inauguration was unfortunately a time when I didn't have time to rehearse with the orchestra because I was rehearsing for the Super Bowl. I'm very proud of my performance."

Referring to her upcoming Super Bowl half time mini-concert, which will be held on February 3, Beyoncé added that it will definitely be live and she has been hard at work preparing for the world-famous slot:

"I will absolutely be singing live, I am well rehearsed. This is what I am born for."
