Beyoncé performs national anthem live at press conference

Beyoncé silenced her critics in the best possible way by performing the US national anthem live at a press conference.

The singer appeared at a media event on Thursday (January 31) to promote her upcoming performance at the NFL's Super Bowl in New Orleans on February 3.

The event came soon after she was accused of miming the national anthem at US President Barack Obama's recent inauguration.

However, she launched into an impromptu rendition of the famous song at the event - leaving the assembled journalists in a state of shock.

Beyoncé, after belting out the song live, then asked: "Any questions?"

As previously reported, the '4' singer said at the Super Bowl press conference that she performed over a backing track at the inauguration because she didn't have time to rehearse with the band, with the cold conditions and lack of soundcheck also disagreeing with her perfectionist nature.
