Avicii and Nicky Romero on course to score a UK No.1 single

Swedish DJ Avicii and Dutch star Nicky Romero look set to score their first joint UK No.1 single after landing at the top spot in today's (February 13) midweek chart update with 'I Could Be The One'.

The Official Charts Company explained that their track has a 15,000 copy lead on its closest competitor, which is Macklemore's 'Thrift Shop' at No.2. Avicii (shown left and below) is no stranger to the UK Top 40 and back in 2011 he enjoyed two Top 5 releases with Leona Lewis's 'Collide' and his own offering, 'Levels'.

P!nk's new cut, 'Just Give Me A Reason' featuring fun.'s Nate Ruess, has entered at No.25 this afternoon, Gabrielle Aplin's 'Please Don't Say You Love Me' debuted at 3, and 'Mirrors' by Justin Timberlake made an appearance at No.31.

Bruno Mars is currently at No.21 with 'Locked Out Of Heaven' and his new single, 'When I Was Your Man', is a new entry at 14. The Lumineers' 'Ho Hey' has climbed an impressive 17 places to No.11 after their performance at last weekend's GRAMMY Awards in Los Angeles.
