Music mogul Simon Cowell has announced that he is set to launch a brand new global talent contest that people from all over the world can enter online.

He is going to team up with YouTube to create 'You Generation', which is going to be an internet-based talent show for people with "unconventional and original talents" as well as musicians, photographers, and make-up artists.

The contest will span a year and is due to kick off on March 20, with participants from 26 different countries using 15 languages being able to submit themselves for consideration. YouTube will hold the auditions and professionals from Cowell's Syco label are confirmed to judge them.

A spokesperson from Syco said in a statement: "The channel offers people with unconventional and original talents the opportunity to have their talent recognised by the world and become the next internet star."

They added that 'You Generation' boasts "the first global audition process, giving people the chance to show off their outstanding skills and win amazing prizes - simply by uploading a video."
