Rihanna's stylist: 'Kanye West got me the job working with her'

Mel Ottenberg, the stylist for Rihanna, has revealed how he got the job working with the Bajan beauty in a new interview.

Speaking to Fashionista.com about his experience, Ottenberg (pictured below with Rihanna) explained that he was originally on Kanye West's team and was eventually 'brought over' to help out with the 'Umbrella' superstar's look:

"I did work with Kanye West, who I love, and then he had a creative director who was working on some Rihanna stuff that just brought me into the fold on a job with Rihanna. Then they asked me to design her last tour after doing one job with them."

He also confessed that she's a great person to style because she is "smart" and "very opinionated" when it comes to how she presents herself, and he admires those qualities:

"I mean, the thing she's so good about is she's great at looking great on the street, looking incredible on the red carpet, looking amazing in a show. All that stuff's really different and I don't think there's anyone else that nails all those different things, so she really gets it, but she also is willing to let you play with different ideas."

Meanwhile, Rihanna has taken style into her own hands and just launched her debut fashion line in association with British high street clothing retailer, River Island.
