Simon Cowell has vowed to participate more in the UK X Factor.

The music mogul left his judging seat on the show in 2011 to concentrate on launching the US version of the reality show.

The UK version - won in recent years by Little Mix and James Arthur - has arguably suffered since his departure, with viewing figures often dropping.

Speaking to Hello!, Cowell has revealed that he plans on featuring more on the UK show in the near future. The Svengali figure said:

"I'm definitely getting more involved. I'm not going to lie – I do miss doing it, because it's, like, my baby."

He continued: "So at some point of course I'm going to come back."
