Little Mix star Perrie Edwards has revealed that she draws strength from her bandmates during tough times.

The singer has recently endured an alleged cheating scandal at the hands of boyfriend Zayn Malik and also a cancer battle within the family.

Speaking to the Mirror, Edwards said that she sources inspiration and courage from her three bandmates - Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall - in times of distress. She said:

"The best part about being in a group is having each other for support. The girls are like my sisters and always look out for me. They have helped me through what has happened."

The 'Wings' star added: "My Nan has bone cancer and it's been recurring over the past few years. She was unwell before the X Factor [in 2011] but she was always rooting for me throughout the show. She got a bit better but has been unwell again recently. It has been really hard but she is a little fighter."
