Police are looking into a complaint of battery made against Justin Bieber.

L.A. County Sheriff's spokesperson Steve Whitmore told TMZ that a man has accused the Canadian star of making physical contact with him after an argument.

It is claimed by Bieber's California neighbour that he was involved in a verbal altercation with the superstar before it got physical.

However, another report by the website says that the neighbour may have been angered by Bieber racing a Ferrari along their street.

The police department confirmed that an investigation was underway.
