Frankie Cocozza on music career: 'This is what I want to do with my life'

Former X Factor contestant Frankie Cocozza has revealed that he's happy with the direction his music career is taking and has been on a much more straight-and-narrow path since leaving the show.

Cocozza famously quit the show in 2011 as a result of his life 'spiralling out of control', but he recently explained to the Daily Star newspaper that since touring and making music with his current band he hasn't even thought about his heavy partying lifestyle:

"During X Factor, I couldn't handle all the comments so I got hammered whenever I could just to cover the fact I was feeling bad. Since I've been in the band, it's just been hard work and I've not thought about anything else. I'm enjoying making my family and friends proud."

The singer added that the support of his fans has made the struggle worthwhile: "It's unbelievable. I expected it to be good but the crowds turning up blow my mind. The fans genuinely love me and start crying and stuff. They are so lovely. This is what I want to do with my life."

He also spoke about how his girlfriend of a year, Leah Hudson, has helped him to remain sober and in control: "I'm majorly loved-up. I've been with her for pretty much a year and I've been faithful and good. She sorted me out."
