5ive have told One Direction not to buy into their own hype - because it will turn them into "monsters".

The 90s pop act are currently enjoying a resurgence after taking part in ITV's nostalgic The Big Reunion series alongside the likes of B*Witched and Atomic Kitten.

Speaking to the Daily Star, the group - who suffered from a number of fall-outs after making it big - told One Direction to stay grounded if they want to make a career out of music. Sean Conlon said:

"They are just kids at the end of the day. It would be easy for them lose their marbles. It totally messes with your head."

Scott Robinson added: "There will be people blowing smoke up their a*se all day long telling them they are amazing. If you believe in your own hype you will turn into a monster."
