Former X Factor star Amelia Lily insists there was never any romance between her and One Direction star Niall Horan.

The pair were once linked, but singer Lily says they have never been more than friends.

When asked if anything ever happened with the heartthrob, Lily exclaimed: "Absolutely not! I can't believe that story is still around. I literally spoke to the guy once and everyone said, 'Amelia and Niall are seeing each other!'"

Lily enjoys friendships with both One Direction and girl band Little Mix.

"It's hard because we all have busy schedules, but when I do see the girls and the lads we have a great time. I see the boys through work things, but if I see the girls we would go to one of our houses and get a nice takeaway and watch a film. I'm really close to all of them."

Lily has put her romantic life on hold while she focuses on her music career. The 18-year-old star told British magazine new!: "I'm not interested in having a boyfriend.

She added: "I just want to concentrate on my career. I'm very young. I have plenty of time for boys, but I have a goal and an ambition and that is to sing. I want to be the best I can be in this business. I don't really have time for a boyfriend if I want to do that."
