Jamie Foxx honours Trayvon Martin and Sandy Hook victims at MTV Movie Awards

Singer and actor Jamie Foxx lead the MTV Movie Awards winners last night (April 14) after taking home two prizes, but his choice of T-shirt was the talking point of the ceremony.

The superstar picked up the Generation Award and was also given the 'Shocking Moment' prize, but chose to pay respect to both Trayvon Martin, who was shot and killed by a neighbour in a gated community in 2012 for looking suspicious, and the victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting with a special item of clothing.

Foxx wore a black T-shirt emblazoned with the faces of Martin and the children slain in Connecticut last year and it displayed the slogan, "know justice, know peace". Speaking about his decision to wear the top, he explained:

"It's just a little blip just to keep our minds... just think about the children. My daughter's here, 19 years old... We're just protecting our kids. That's all it is."

During his acceptance speech, Foxx mentioned his daughter and left her red-faced after telling the world that she is not only 19-years-old but single.
