Barack Obama: 'I have better things to do than approve Jay-Z's holidays'

The President of the United States of America has confirmed that he had nothing to do with rapper Jay-Z's clearance during his recent holiday to Cuba.

The '99 Problems' hitmaker travelled to the area, which has a longstanding embargo against U.S. citizens visiting as tourists, and following public backlash at his trip to Havana he released a song, named 'Open Letter', that implicated Barack Obama in being allowed to enter the country. He rapped:

"Boy from the hood but got White House clearance," before adding, "Obama said, chill, you gonna get me impeached. We don’t need this [expletive] anyway, chill with me on the beach."

A White House spokesman was forced to issue a statement on Jay-Z's controversial lyrics, in which it was revealed that Obama had nothing to do with the trip, but the President has also now spoken out about the track:

"I wasn't familiar that they were taking the trip. My understanding is that they went through a group that organizes these educational trips down to Cuba. This is not something that the White House was involved with. We've got better things to do."
