Teen girls 'convert' to Islam in exchange for Justin Bieber tickets

A Norwegian television station recently held a fake contest in which fans of Justin Bieber were tested to see how far they would go for the teen sensation.

Comedy show Anne-Kat Hærland chose five teenage girls and told them they would receive concert tickets to see the 'Boyfriend' superstar live if they converted to Islam. A spokesperson for the radio show explained: "We wanted to find out how far Norwegian ‘Beliebers’ are willing to go for tickets to one of Bieber’s concerts.”

The girls were made to remove their makeup, put on hijabs and recite Islamic creed in Arabic in front of a camera crew, but were unaware the joke was on them the whole time. They were also made to say a phrase that translated to: "Justin Bieber is impure and probably gay."

Bishop Halvor Nordhaug, from the Norwegian Lutheran Church, explained to Norwegian paper Dagen that the prank was nothing short of being "tragic": "This is an example of an idea where irony and lack of respect turns into something tragic. I believe the contest is a foolish statement and it shows a lack of respect for what faith means.”
