Brian Friedman on 'The X Factor': 'There's always a shake-up on the panel each year'

'X Factor' choreographer Brian Friedman has revealed that this year's run of the popular TV talent show needs something fresh.

Speaking about the forthcoming new series, Friedman explained that it would be great to have a new dynamic although he refused to reveal any information about the confirmed panelists:

"It seems like there is always something new plugged into the show. Whether that is the way they do auditions or how many contestants they put on. There's a little bit of a shake-up every year."

"It needs to be fresh all the time. If it means changing the judges then so be it. I just hope he doesn't change me."

Last month, Friedman spoke about boyband One Direction and admitted that none of them are particularly great at dancing: "They didn't do too well with dancing when I was working with them. It's not that they can't handle it - some are better than others, no names to be mentioned - but it's not what they're about. They're not a dancey boyband kind of thing, they're just about youth an exuberance and making girls swoon."
