'New Girl' cast member praises Taylor Swift's cameo performance

Back in March, it was revealed that Taylor Swift had been approached for a cameo in hit U.S. series 'New Girl' and she has now filmed her segment of the episode she will appear in.

Jake Johnson, who plays the adorable character of Nick Miller on the programme, explained to EW.com that the 'I Knew You Were Trouble' hitmaker was a natural in front of the camera and did a fantastic job on the role she had to play:

"She came in and is really nice. It's not an easy scene. There were probably 70 extras there, though I'm sure she performs to... much bigger (crowds) than that on a regular basis. She had, like, a little monologue and delivered it perfectly. (The producer) gave her alternative jokes and lines, she delivered them all perfectly. It was frustrating!"

Swift plays a character named Elaine and while the show's cast and producers remain tight-lipped about the nature of the episode she appears in, showrunner Liz Meriwether told EW that she was so excited when the country-pop beauty agreed to take part:

"I’m a huge fan of hers. I was fully geeking out about meeting [Taylor]. I didn’t go to meet her right away because I kind of had to compose myself — there’s a 14-year-old girl inside of me. She was quoting lines to us from the show. It was a really exciting night.”
