Keith Richards on Rolling Stones ticket cost: "It's the price of the market"

Keith Richards has given his two cents on the Rolling Stones' ticket prices.

The band initially came under fire last year over the cost of their 50th anniversary concerts at London's O2 Arena.

They have also been criticised recently over the price of their 50 And Counting North American jaunt, which is currently taking place.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, guitarist Richards said that whilst he would like fans to get into concerts without "starving their babies", the cost of tickets is largely out their hands. He said:

"From my point of view, it's like this: We say we want to put a Stones tour together and people come to us with proposals. And these proposals are all basically the same."

The veteran added: "We actually did push down the prices a little bit. We took the lower offer, in other words. But, um, it's the price of the market. I don't really know. I don't have much to do with it other than I would like people to get in, to be able to afford to get in, without sort of starving their babies and all. And that's about it."
