Louis Walsh to create boyband to "rival One Direction"

Louis Walsh is holding auditions this weekend to find a boyband that may ultimately rival One Direction.

The 'Kiss You' stars are currently the biggest group in the world, but the X Factor judge is hoping to unearth new talent that could go on to achieve similar fame.

Walsh, who is associated with Westlife and Boyzone, will hold auditions from Sunday to Tuesday (May 19-21) at The Button Factory in Temple Bar, Dublin.

He has major label backing and is looking for five male singers over the age of 16. Walsh said:

"It has been 12 years since I did auditions for a boy band. It's boys over 16 from anywhere, any nationality, but they must be prepared to work hard. Vocals are key."

He continued: "I'm looking for five pop stars and I have a major record company and a high profile UK partner."
