Queen icon Brian May: ''The Voice' is the dumbest, most depressing show on television'

Legendary guitarist Brian May, of rock band Queen, has slammed TV vocal talent show 'The Voice' as being one of the worst shows around and also the 'ultimate insult' to musicians.

Writing on his official website, the 'We Are The Champions' star explained his hatred for the popular programme and hit out at the 'rude' way the coaches sit with their backs to hopeful performers:

"Sorry, hate to be negative but The Voice is the dullest, dumbest, most depressing show on TV. It's the ultimate insult to music and to performers. Every time I catch a glimpse of young singers busting their guts trying to win somebody's attention, who is rudely sitting with their back to them... I feel sick."

May went on to add that seeing Welsh crooner Tom Jones on the panel is especially painful and he can't wait for 'The Voice' to be cancelled or at least over: "I hate seeing the great Tom Jones shoehorned into this scenario. I hope this vile show dies a natural death very soon."
