Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood were among the winners at this year's CMT Music Awards.

The ceremony, which was held on Wednesday night (June 5) at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, paid tribute to country music videos and performances.

Miranda Lambert won the Female Video of the Year gong for her clip 'Mama's Broken Heart', as well as the CMT Performance of the Year award for her rendition of 'Over You' at the 2012 CMT Artists of the Year event.

Carrie Underwood meanwhile bagged the Video of the Year award for her track 'Blown Away'.

Other winners on the night included Jason Aldean (Collaborative Video of the Year), Lady Antebellum (Group Video of the Year) and Blake Shelton (Male Video of the Year).

Taylor Swift, who was nominated for the Female Video of the Year category for her clip 'Begin Again', performed her song 'Red' on the night.
