Miguel denies Billboard Music Awards stage jump ban

A rep for US star Miguel has dismissed reports that he was told not to jump over the audience at this year's Billboard Music Awards.

The singer grabbed headlines at the May event in Las Vegas after mistiming a leap over the crowd and partly landing on a female fan.

The incident gained attention recently after it was revealed that the victim, Khyati Shah, may pursue legal action after signs of neurological damage surfaced.

A source told a website that Miguel had previously been ordered not to jump over the crowd - something which a rep for the singer denied. They said:

"The reports claiming that Miguel was warned by producers not to jump are completely false."

They added: "A number of attempts were made to reach Khyati and her lawyer after the performance to see how she was doing and whether any assistance could be offered. Khyati's well-being has been and continues to be of the utmost concern to Miguel."
