Pharrell Williams clueless about "explosive" Daft Punk track

Pharrell Williams had "no idea" his latest collaboration with Daft Punk would be so "explosive".

'Get Lucky' from the French duo's new album 'Random Access Memories' has garnered huge success thanks to its feel good melody and catchy lyrics.

Williams says they are “super thankful” for the positive response.

Speaking to MTV News: ''I mean, I thought it would do good, I didn't know it would be this; I didn't know it would be breaking records across the board, I had no idea.

He added: ''I just thought it would do well, because it felt great and it felt different, and you guys know I live for those types of things, to do things that are different. So the fact that it's been so explosive, and that the people chose to make it the phenomenon it is; the only thing we can say is thank y'all. I was with the robots yesterday, and, of course, they're super thankful too.''

'Get Lucky' became Spotify's most streamed song in a 24-hour period in the US and UK. The anthem also entered the top 10 in more than 28 countries and stayed at the top of the UK charts for two weeks.

Williams added that Daft Punk - comprising Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo - are entirely focused on their present career plans.

He continued: ''They don't talk about future plans; they're all about the present, which has no ribbon. The masks are an extension of who they are as people ... they pretty much think that way regardless.''
