Macklemore and Ryan Lewis make U.S. chart history

'Otherside' hitmakers Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have made chart history in America since bursting onto the scene last year.

The pair have become the first duo to enter the Billboard Pop Songs chart at No.1 with both of their first two singles since the mainstream countdown launched 20 years ago. They earned the amazing honour with the release of 'Thrift Shop' in 2012 and 'Can't Hold Us' this year.

Perhaps even more impressively, the stars hold the same title in the Billboard Hot 100's almost-55 year history.

'Can't Hold Us' also set a new Pop Songs chart 'weekly plays' record after it reached 14,991 spins over the past seven days. The track is currently at No.9 in the UK's official Top 40 and 'Thrift Shop' is at No.35.
