Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift were among the winners at this year's MuchMusic Video Awards.

The Canadian awards ceremony took place on Sunday night (June 16) in Toronto as the broadcaster paid tribute to both homegrown and international music acts.

Justin Bieber picked up the Favourite Artist trophy whilst Taylor Swift, who is currently touring North America on her Red jaunt, won the Favourite International Artist gong.

Other winners on the night included Demi Lovato in the International Video of the Year (Artist) category and Psy, who pocketed the Viral Video award for his smash hit clip 'Gangnam Style'.

Avril Lavigne meanwhile bagged the International Video of the Year by a Canadian Artist prize for her 'Here's To Never Growing Up' promo.

Acts performing on the night included winners Psy and Lovato, as well as Ed Sheeran and Phillip Phillips.
