Medical expert says Michael Jackson suffered extreme sleep deprivation before death

During Michael Jackson's ongoing wrongful death trial this week, a medical expert revealed that the King of Pop hadn't slept properly in 60 days.

Dr. Charles Czeisler, a Harvard Medical School sleep expert, testified in the case earlier today and told the court that the propofol injections that Dr. Conrad Murray was giving the 'Thriller' superstar in order to combat his insomnia were incredibly excessive:

"The symptoms that Mr. Jackson was exhibiting were consistent with what someone might expect to see of someone suffering from total sleep deprivation over a chronic period."

He added: "I believe that that constellation of symptoms was more probably than not induced by total sleep deprivation over a chronic period."

Czeisler went on to estimate that if Jackson had continued with more than 60 days of propofol treatment, he probably would have died before the 80th day: "It would be like eating some sort of cellulose pellets instead of dinner. Your stomach would be full, and you would not be hungry, but it would be zero calories and not fulfill any of your nutrition needs."
