Courtney Love: 'Jay-Z used Nirvana lyrics on his new album and didn't ask permission, but it's fine'

The late Kurt Cobain's wife, Courtney Love, has revealed that rap superstar Jay-Z included Nirvana lyrics on his brand new album, 'Magna Carta Holy Grail'.

Speaking to the Huffington Post, Love explained that lines from Nirvana's iconic rock anthem 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' were used by the '99 Problems' superstar and while he initially used them without permission they have managed to figure out the 'business side':

"I'm letting Jay-Z use lyrics-- [daughter] Frances would freak [if she knew this]. Jay-Z's huge and we're friends. I mean we're not besties or anything.... They [used the lyrics] without asking, which is kind of nervy but the business side has been taken care of so it's fine."

Jay-Z's new record is due to be put on sale to the general public on July 7, but users of Samsung Galaxy SIII, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note II phones will be able to make an advance purchase via a specially designed app on July 4.
