Pixies have released a new track.

The iconic US indie group have unleashed the song 'Bagboy' online.

It is their first slice of new music since 2004, when they released the track 'Bam Thwok'.

The news comes hot on the heels of bassist Kim Deal's resignation from the band, however, who vowed to carry on without the Breeders lady.

Deal features on 'Bagboy' despite her exit from the group. She continues to perform in The Breeders, the band she created in 1990 as a Pixies offshoot.

Speaking as they announced their new track, Pixies said on Twitter: "IT'S TIME !!! We have something new we'd like you to hear. Cover your breath, polish your teeth...BAGBOY..."
